Front of home

In 2017 our journey started. Join us for a trip through time in the coming days and weeks, think back to what it was like, when you came to visit and see what it looks like today. Share your memories, what you like or what you do not like about the changes. We're curious!

Initially we just wanted to meet with the previous owners to learn more about owning property in Florida. We didn't plan to buy it when we arrived but we already had lots of ideas what we'd want this home to become if it was ours when we left.

Let's take a look at the front of the house today. 2017 is the starting point. In 2018 we had our home freshly painted. We weren't there when it was painted and did not expect that doors and garage doors were painted. So we were a little surprised when we received the first picture with a bold, blue garage door. But ever since, it identifies our home in the neighborhood.

2021 we removed the tree growing right in front of the kitchen windows to let more light flow into the home and to prevent damage to the roof.

2023 Ian caused major damage to the pool enclosure, plants and the roof. As we cleaned up the damage to the plants, we decided to remove the bushes in the front for a cleaner appeal.

In January we eventually got new hurricane impact windows and doors. For a more modern appeal and more daylight inside the house, we had the kitchen windows squared off and the glass panel of the front door got bigger too. The home got a nice finish with a fresh paint. The main color a sunny yellow tone and a little lighter blue for the trim and -of course- the garage door.
